Privacy policy
Effective date: October 11, 2026
This policy explains how Jaib handles information when you use jaib.app, the mobile app and the browser extension. Jaib is responsible for its processing of account and reading-service data. Privacy requests and questions can be sent to wdanieldib@gmail.com.
Information we process
- Account information such as email address, user identifier, sign-in provider information and session credentials.
- URLs you submit, extracted article text and metadata, library entries, tags, favorites, archives, highlights, reading and listening positions, preferences and feedback.
- Subscription identifiers, entitlement status, purchase history and related billing metadata received from RevenueCat or the purchase provider. Payment providers collect payment details; Jaib does not collect full card numbers in its application.
- Technical information such as IP addresses, request logs, device/browser information and errors needed to operate and protect the service.
The Chrome extension also checks HTTP(S) tab URLs for the saved badge when tabs change, finish loading or its background worker starts, including pages you have not chosen to save. See the extension privacy policy for its precise permissions and behavior.
How information is used
We use information to authenticate you, save and synchronize your library, extract articles, provide reading and listening features, verify subscriptions, respond to support, diagnose errors and prevent misuse. AI features send relevant article text or metadata to an AI provider to produce summaries or tag suggestions. Narration in the current app runs locally on your device; article extraction and AI summaries involve server processing.
Where applicable, our legal bases include providing the service you request, legitimate interests in security and reliable operation, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required for optional processing. You may contact us about objections or withdrawal of consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Service providers and sharing
Jaib uses Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication and stored data, Browserless and publisher websites for article extraction, DeepSeek for AI features, and RevenueCat with Paddle or the relevant app store for billing and access. These providers receive the information needed for their functions. For example, extraction can send your submitted URL to Browserless and the publisher; AI features can send article content or metadata to DeepSeek.
The website may use Google Analytics when configured to understand usage; it can process device, browser and usage information. Essential cookies and local storage support authentication and preferences. Browser settings and available provider controls can limit optional tracking. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the service.
Providers may process information outside your country, subject to their terms and applicable data-protection requirements. Paddle and app stores also process billing information under their own privacy notices.
Public articles and local downloads
Article URLs submitted to Jaib can become publicly accessible reader pages, including anonymous homepage previews. Removing an article from your library does not necessarily remove its shared article record or public page. Do not submit confidential URLs or content.
Downloaded articles, access snapshots and listening data can be stored on your device. Article caches are separated by account, but retained files are not a promise of secure erasure or device encryption. Some legacy downloads may remain until application storage is cleared. Shared voice models can remain after logout. Protect your device and clear app/site storage when needed.
Retention and your choices
We retain account and library data while needed to provide the service, and may retain limited records for security, legal or billing obligations. Logs and backups may retain data after deletion until their normal retention cycle ends. Shared article records can remain separately from your account.
You can remove library entries and change preferences in the app. Contact wdanieldib@gmail.com to request account deletion, access, correction, an export, or other applicable privacy rights. We may verify your identity before acting. Deleting an account does not by itself cancel a store subscription; cancel it with the purchase provider. You may also complain to your applicable data-protection authority.
Security, children and updates
We use access controls and service-provider security features to protect data, but no system can guarantee complete security. Jaib is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without required permission, contact us. We will update this policy when processing changes and communicate material changes as appropriate.
