JAIB Chrome extension privacy policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
This policy describes the JAIB Chrome extension, published by wdanieldib.
What the extension sends
When you click the extension icon or choose Save to Jaib from a context menu, the extension opens jaib.app with the selected page or link URL. JAIB handles sign-in and saving the article to your account.
The extension also sends HTTP and HTTPS tab URLs to jaib.app when tabs are activated, finish loading, and when the extension service worker starts. These requests check whether a URL is already in your library so the extension can display its saved badge. Requests use your existing JAIB session when available. These checks can include pages you have not chosen to save.
Local data and permissions
The extension keeps a short-lived, in-memory cache of URL-check results. It does not use extension storage to keep a persistent browsing-history database. It does not read page contents, passwords, form entries, or cookies through the Chrome cookies API.
The contextMenus permission adds Save to Jaib and Open Jaib. tabs provides URLs for saved-status checks. Host access is limited to https://jaib.app for those checks.
Use and sharing
The extension sends data only to JAIB. It contains no advertising or third-party analytics code, and does not sell browsing data or use it for advertising. JAIB processes requests using its hosting and account/database services, including Vercel and Supabase. URLs may appear in ordinary hosting request logs. The JAIB website handles account information and article extraction separately, and may load its own website analytics. Article URLs you choose to save are stored in your JAIB library.
Your choices
Removing the extension stops its future requests. Removing a saved article from your library removes your library entry. The extension has no persistent local browsing-history store to clear.
